EMFI Analytics, a London-based emerging markets broker-dealer, is seeking a motivated, intellectually curious junior analyst to join its research team as a Junior Macroeconomic Analyst, covering emerging markets. This is a fully remote position, ideal for early-career professionals or recent graduates with a strong academic background and an interest in macroeconomics. The role is open to candidates based in (or nationals from) Nigeria, Angola, Ghana, or Zambia. Key Responsibilities Under the guidance and supervision of a senior analyst, the Junior Macroeconomic Analyst will be responsible for: • Actively contributing to EMFI's macroeconomic research process. • Developing and maintaining an up-to-date macroeconomic view of assigned emerging market countries. • Assisting in the preparation of forecasts and analysis of key macroeconomic variables (GDP, inflation, fiscal balances, gross financing needs, etc.). • Supporting the preparation of macroeconomic and investment strategy reports on emerging markets. • Monitoring political, economic, and financial developments in emerging market countries. • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of economists and financial analysts located across multiple regions, contributing to research coverage of more than 20 countries.

Requirements

• Full professional proficiency in written and spoken English (essential). • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a structured approach to work. • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within an international remote team. • Strong communication skills and comfort interacting with colleagues across different time zones. • Good working knowledge of Excel. • Strong academic background in macroeconomics. • Basic knowledge of statistical concepts and techniques. • Interest in emerging markets, macroeconomic forecasting, financial analysis, and sovereign credit risk. • Knowledge of fixed income markets is not required but will be valued. • Strong motivation to learn, grow, and develop analytical skills in a professional research environment.
